Y1 (Gondolas) 

 Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to the Gondolas!

Book bags

Books will be changed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so please make sure your child brings their book bag on that day. Their reading books should be signed whenever you read with them and at least 3 times a week. On Mondays and Fridays, the book they bring home will be an Oxford Reading Tree stage book but on Wednesdays your child will be able to choose any book from the book corner to read. This may mean it is easier to read or more difficult to read (in which case you can read it with them).

PE kits

We will be doing PE every Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure suitable clothes are packed for change and no jewelleries (other than small studs) are worn.

Water bottles

Please send your child to school with a water bottle every day.

In Spring 1 we are learning:

Maths – Multiplication and Division (2s, 5s, 10s)

Literacy – Fairy Stories and Traditional Tales/ Chronological Report on Real Events/ Poems to learn by heart

Science – What Animals Eat

Topic – Geography (Map Your Local Area)

Art – Flora and Fauna

Computing – Pictogram

Phonics – Phase 5 Floppy Phonics

PE- Sequence and Movement

Finally, please ensure all clothing and bookbags are clearly labelled.
